In today's episode...

Oi oi oi! Welcome back to another piping hot Pete’s 2 Cents Q&A session right here on the Aussie English podcast!

Today, we’re tackling a bit of a sticky wicket: What Aussie stereotype really gets our knickers in a knot?

Fair dinkum, mates, there’s a bloody long list!

But before we dive into the deep end, let’s have a yarn about stereotypes in general.

Slapping labels on entire cultures and having a laugh at their expense? Yeah, nah, that’s not cricket. It’s like taking the mickey out of our unique Aussie way of life, and frankly, it’s a bit of a dog’s breakfast.

But hey, no worries! We’re still going to have a good ol’ chinwag about a whole bunch of stereotypes that’ll make you chuckle – from those over-the-top “G’day, mate” impressions to the legendary drop bear myth, and even that one stereotype that makes us go, “Strewth, mate, you’ve gotta be joking!”
